Beyonce, John Legend and Robin Thicke were among the winners under the music categories during the 2014 NAACP Image Awards held yesterday, February 22 in Los Angeles.
The “Drunk In Love” singer garnered the Outstanding Female Artist award, John Legend took the Outstanding Male Artist and Outstanding Song for ‘All of Me,’ while Robin Thicke with T.I. and Pharrell won the Outstanding Duo, group or collaboration award for their song “Blurred Lines.”
According to EURweb, the highlight of the awarding ceremony was the tribute to the late South African leader, Nelson Mandela.
Oprah Winfrey salutes Mandela as a leader wherein she said, “He was everything we have all have heard and more. He was humble and he was unscathed by any kind of bitterness after all that we know he’s been through.” Afterward, Stevie Wonder performed a musical tribute to the late South African anti-apartheid revolutionary leader.
