Nicki Minaj and Busta Rhymes finally release hot new music video for the Jamaican style Twerk It single!
The music video was directed by Director X and was shot in Flatbush at Pulse 48
The video premiered on July 24, 2013 on MTV2 Jams as the Jam of the Week and features special cameos from Tosh, Swizz Beatz, and DJ Khaled. “Twerk It” producer Pharrell is also spotted in the music video.
The video Twerk It demonstrates a rave atmosphere on screen. You see Nicki Minaj Twerking like she has never Twerked before, whilst Busta Rhymes goes back to his roots with his Jamaican lyrical flow.
Minaj came to the video shoot unaware it would have such a large setup saying “I didn’t know this was a real video”.
The song serves as the lead single from Busta’s upcoming tenth album EL.E. 2. The hit single was written by Trevor Smith, Pharrell Williams, and Onika Maraj, and was produced by Pharrell Williams. The song was suppose to serve as a remix, but is now the official version.
Peps Final Say
This is a very hot single and the music video is simple but effective. Nicki Minaj really shows off her twerking skills and all Nicki haters might have to take a step back. Not sure if Dj Khaled appearance did the video much justice as he did look quite uncomfortable when Nicki was whining up herself.
Even though there doesn’t appear to be much going on in the video apart from the ladies whining; I think that adds to the concept, theme and style of the video. You can see the Jamaican influence in both the song and music video and I believe this will be blowing up the clubs consistently.
