Talib Kweli released “Buck: The Original Book Soundtrack”

Javotti Media, Talib Kwel’s independent record label, releases the original soundtrack of the MK Asante’s book “Buck”. The book is a story of how a kid found his purpose of life by taking lessons from unconventional teachers – outlaws and rappers.

12 tracks can be listened to in the “Buck: The Original Book Soundtrack” which includes the song “Godz N The Hood” where Talib Kweli, Bishop Lament, and Rass Kass collaborated. This track is said to be unbelievably awesome. There are also songs set to be released which features poets Angelou Maya and Amiri Baraka.

According to Kweli “Buck, a memoir, is important not just for its scope and passion but for the author’s refusal to apologize for existing.”. He adds that when you listen to the soundtrack, you get engulfed to the world in the book. And when you do, you will come to realize that the memoir not only becomes important but also necessary.

To celebrate the year anniversary of the Buck’s paperback release, the soundtrack inspired by the book will be free for digital download on May 13. Watch out for it on KweliClub.com or MKAsante.com.
