Vybz Kartel Sues TVJ and Owen Ellington For Defamation
Vybz Kartel is suing the outgoing police commissioner Owen Ellington along with TVJ for defamation.
Based on the filed court documents, Adidja Palmer, the dancehall artist’s government name claims that on or about April 10, 2014, Ellington made dropped some statements that seriously damaged his career as a professional musician.
Ellington had an interview with TVJ’s All Angles last April where he said that Kartel lead a gang responsible for more than 100 murders.
Kartel responded accusing TVJ of being negligent and reckless in their publication of the said interview hosted by journalist Dionne Jackson-Miller.
The court documents also state that the defendant Owen Ellington failed to retract his words and TVJ did nothing.
Vybz Karte, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones are all serving their life sentences in prison at present after they’ve been convicted for murder of their former associate Clive “Lizard” Williams.
They have to serve for an average of 30 years before they’re eligible for parole.
