Zendaya Coleman Will No Longer Play Aaliyah, Filming On Hold
Just a few weeks after revealing who will portray as Aaliyah in her forthcoming biopic, actress Zendaya Coleman will no longer play the said role.
According to E! News, a representative of Coleman informed the entertainment network behind the biopic that “Zendaya is no longer involved in the project.”
Lifetime network confirmed the news last Sunday afternoon, June 29 through Twitter. They also announced that this will delay the filming of the biopic.
“We are sad Zendaya will no longer portray Aaliyah. Production is currently on hold,” Lifetime tweeted.
This isn’t the only problem the network is facing since the singer’s family has also threatened to stop the filming and to block the rights of using any of Aaliyah’s songs in the film.
